I have recently watched two movies with incredible (realistic!) birth scenes. There's a lot of harsh content and violence to get through in both films. But I don't regret seeing either one. In fact, they are remarkably well done.

I saw Children of Men earlier this year and really liked it. It brought out how sacred birth is. Haven't seen Apocalypto...

I was affected by both of them. It's so funny that you brought this up because I thought that the birth scene in Apocalypto was incredible and I find myself thinking of it often! The process reminded me of a whale giving birth and I thought it was beautiful! It looked remarkably easy and that says a lot for me when it comes to the idea of giving birth! I tend to stray from TLC's birth stories, but that scene completely intrigued me!
